December 1, 2024: Diljit Dosanjh delivered an unforgettable performance at his Dil-Luminati Tour 2024 concert in Kolkata on Saturday, where he not only wowed the audience with his music but also shared some heartwarming and motivational words. The packed crowd at the concert was treated to an intimate moment when Diljit spoke about Kolkata’s deep connection to cricket and its iconic Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) slogan, “Korbo Lorbo Jeetbo Re”, a phrase that has become synonymous with the team’s fighting spirit.
In a candid moment, Diljit praised the slogan, which he said was “such a lovely tagline,” especially given that it’s associated with Shahrukh Khan’s KKR. He connected the message to hard work and determination, encouraging his fans to always give their best. He added, “If you give 199 percent effort, victory will have no other option but to come to you.” His motivational words resonated deeply with the audience, urging them to work hard and fight for success in everything they do.
Diljit also took a moment to reflect on Kolkata’s rich cultural and historical heritage. He acknowledged the pride that the city holds with its legendary figures, including spiritual leaders and the iconic poet Rabindranath Tagore. Diljit shared a beautiful anecdote about Tagore, quoting a conversation where someone suggested that since Tagore had written the national anthem, he should write a world anthem too. Tagore’s response, which Diljit quoted with admiration, was: “Guru Nanak Dev Ji already wrote it in the 15th century.”
The concert wasn’t just about music—it was also a celebration of Kolkata itself. Diljit, a lover of culture and history, made sure to visit some of the city’s most famous landmarks before the show. He stopped by the historic Indian Coffee House, where he enjoyed a cup of milk coffee while soaking in the city’s vibrant atmosphere. His team shared photos and videos of the visit, showing Diljit walking up the iconic stairs of the venue and chatting with the friendly staff.
Earlier in the day, Diljit also visited the Dakshineswar Temple, where he offered prayers and meditated in the peaceful surroundings. The singer even took a ride in Kolkata’s famous yellow taxi and enjoyed the scenic views along the Hooghly River, taking in the essence of the “City of Joy.”
The Dil-Luminati Tour 2024 is taking Diljit across India, with stops in Bengaluru on December 6, Indore on December 8, Chandigarh on December 14, and Guwahati on December 29. His Kolkata performance was a testament to his ability to connect deeply with audiences, blending music, culture, and meaningful reflections in a truly memorable way.
