Diljit Dosanjh Declares He Won’t Perform Live in India Again Until Infrastructure Improves

The singer-actor voiced concerns over inadequate infrastructure during his Chandigarh concert on the Dil-Luminati India Tour.

December 16, 2024: Punjabi sensation Diljit Dosanjh has expressed frustration with India’s live show infrastructure, announcing during his recent Chandigarh concert that he won’t perform live in India again unless conditions improve. The concert, part of his highly anticipated Dil-Luminati India Tour, brought fans iconic moments but also a firm stance on the issue.

In a video circulating online, Diljit, speaking in Punjabi, highlighted the challenges faced during live shows. He remarked, “Here we don’t have proper infrastructure for live performances. This generates significant revenue and employment, but the facilities need improvement. I’ll try next time to have the stage at the center for a better experience, but until things improve, I won’t do shows in India—that’s for sure.”

While Diljit’s announcement caught attention, the concert was still filled with memorable moments. Performing in his home city, the singer got emotional as he connected with his fans. He also dedicated the event to Gukesh Dommaraju, the newly crowned International Chess Federation (FIDE) World Champion.

Adding a touch of Bollywood fun, Diljit recreated Allu Arjun’s iconic “Jhukega nahi” dialogue from Pushpa, giving a nod to the actor. Despite not watching Pushpa 2 yet, he delighted fans by playfully saying, “If the saala doesn’t bow, why would the jija?”
