Dipika Kakar Undergoes Long Surgery for Liver Cancer, Husband Shoaib Shares Health Update

June 4, 2025: Actor Shoaib Ibrahim provided an emotional update on his wife Dipika Kakar’s health following her extensive surgery for stage 2 liver cancer. Dipika underwent a grueling 14-hour operation on Tuesday at a Mumbai hospital, with Shoaib sharing on Instagram that she is currently in the ICU and experiencing some pain but remains stable.

“Sorry I couldn’t update you last night, it was a long surgery. She was in OT for 14 hours. But Alhamdulillah, everything went well. Dipi is currently in the ICU,” Shoaib wrote, thanking fans for their prayers and support. He requested everyone to continue keeping Dipika in their thoughts as she recovers.

The couple had previously revealed the diagnosis after Dipika experienced upper abdominal pain, which led to the discovery of a tennis-ball-sized malignant tumor in her liver. Despite the daunting diagnosis, doctors have reassured them that complete recovery is possible post-surgery.

Earlier delays in surgery were due to Dipika battling the flu and gallbladder pain caused by a stone. Shoaib’s heartfelt updates have been met with an outpouring of love and prayers from fans and fellow celebrities alike.

Dipika herself had shared a candid message about the difficult journey, emphasizing the emotional toll of facing cancer but expressing hope for the future.
