Director Siddharth Anand Visit Hospital To Meet Saif Ali Khan

January 16, 2025: Filmmaker Siddharth Anand and his wife Mamta Bhatia-Anand were seen arriving at Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai to meet Saif Ali Khan, who is currently receiving treatment after being injured in a scuffle with an intruder at his Bandra residence late Wednesday night. The shocking attack took place at the Satguru Sharan building in Bandra, leaving both the public and the film industry in disbelief.

According to the police, the incident began when the intruder confronted Khan's maid. When Saif Ali Khan attempted to intervene and defuse the situation, the confrontation quickly escalated into a physical altercation. The actor was injured during the scuffle and was rushed to Lilavati Hospital for treatment. Siddharth Anand, who has previously worked with Saif in films like Salaam Namaste (2005) and Ta Ra Rum Pum (2007), and is the producer of Saif's upcoming film Jewel Thief - The Red Sun Chapter, also visited the hospital to support his friend and colleague.

A statement from Saif Ali Khan's PR team confirmed the incident, describing it as an attempted burglary. The statement urged media and fans to be patient as the situation is being handled by the authorities: "There was an attempted burglary at Mr. Saif Ali Khan's residence. He is currently in hospital undergoing surgery. We request the media and fans to be patient. It is a police matter."

Dr. Niraj Uttamani, COO of Lilavati Hospital, provided an update on Saif's condition, stating that the actor was brought to the hospital at 3 AM by his son Taimur Ali Khan and their caretaker. Saif sustained six stab wounds, two of which were deep, including one near his spine. A small foreign object was also discovered near his spine. He is currently undergoing surgery, and the full extent of the damage will be assessed once the procedure is complete. The surgery is being conducted by a team of specialists, including Dr. Nitin Dange (Consultant Neurosurgeon), Dr. Leena Jain (Consultant Plastic Surgeon), and other medical professionals.

Following the incident, actress Pooja Bhatt took to her official X handle to voice her concern, urging the Mumbai Police to increase security in the area: "Can this lawlessness please be curbed @MumbaiPolice @CPMumbaiPolice We need more Police presence in Bandra. The city & especially the queen of the suburbs have never felt so unsafe before."

Chef Kunal Kapoor also expressed his shock on Instagram, writing, "Stunned to hear about the attack on Saif. Praying for his speedy recovery. #saif #saifalikhan."

Jr NTR, who recently worked with Saif in Devara Part 1, expressed his shock and sadness on his official X handle: "Shocked and saddened to hear about the attack on Saif sir. Wishing and praying for his speedy recovery and good health."

The Mumbai Police Crime Branch has launched an investigation into the incident. Deputy Commissioner of Police Dixit Gedam confirmed that the altercation between Saif and the intruder left the actor injured, and authorities are continuing to gather information to resolve the matter.

On the professional front, Saif Ali Khan recently starred in the action thriller Devara Part 1, which hit theatres in September 2024. Fans and industry colleagues are now hoping for his swift recovery.
