Disha Patani Gears Up for Hollywood Debut in Kevin Spacey-Directed ‘Holiguards’

May 31, 2025: Bollywood star Disha Patani is set to make her much-anticipated Hollywood debut in the supernatural action-thriller Holiguards, directed by Oscar-winner Kevin Spacey, marking his first directorial venture in over two decades.

Shot against the stunning backdrop of Durango, Mexico, Holiguards features an international star-studded cast including Dolph Lundgren, Tyrese Gibson, and Brianna Hildebrand. The film is the first installment of an ambitious franchise titled Statiguards vs Holiguards, promising a rollercoaster of supernatural action and high-octane thrills.

A recent behind-the-scenes photo of Disha on set quickly went viral, fueling excitement among fans eager to see her on the global stage. An industry insider revealed, “Disha was in Mexico as early as January to shoot the pilot alongside Tyrese Gibson and Harry Goodwins. The footage looks visually spectacular — fans are truly in for a treat.”

This marks a major milestone for Disha, who had earlier shared the screen with Jackie Chan in the international hit Kung Fu Yoga. Besides Holiguards, she is also prepping for Welcome to the Jungle (2025), the third installment in the popular Bollywood Welcome franchise.

From Bareilly to Hollywood

Born on June 13, 1992, in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, Disha Patani’s journey from a small-town girl to a Bollywood and soon-to-be Hollywood actress is inspiring. She hails from a disciplined Kumaoni Rajput family with her father serving as a police officer and her elder sister a lieutenant in the Indian Army.

Disha began her career in 2015 with the Telugu film Loafer before making a memorable Bollywood debut in M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story (2016). Over the years, she has appeared in hits like Baaghi 2, Bharat, Malang, and the highly anticipated Kalki 2898 AD and Kanguva. Recognised for her talent and charisma, she featured in Forbes India’s Celebrity 100 list in 2019.
