Divya Khossla EXPOSES Mukesh Bhatt, Shares Audio Proof On Savi vs Jigra Controversy

Actress Divya Khossla has released a phone recording of veteran filmmaker Mukesh Bhatt, in which he denies calling her accusations against Alia Bhatt’s Jigra a “publicity stunt,” alleging the media reports were “planned” by a rival camp to hurt her on her birthday.

November 21, 2025: The long-simmering controversy between actress-filmmaker Divya Khossla and the makers of Alia Bhatt’s Jigra has escalated dramatically into a public debate on “industry mafia” and gatekeeping, following the release of an audio recording by Divya.

On Thursday, Divya shared an audio clip on Instagram of a recent phone conversation with veteran producer Mukesh Bhatt, accusing him of making a complete U-turn on his earlier statements to the media.

The U-Turn on Record

The dispute stems from a video interview a few days ago, where Mukesh Bhatt—who co-produced Divya’s film Savi—reportedly dismissed her claims that Jigra copied her film’s jailbreak plot and faked its box office numbers, calling the accusations a “publicity stunt.”

In the audio clip, Divya directly confronts Bhatt about the published reports. Bhatt is heard unequivocally denying the accusation: “Na mereko kisi ne pucha, na maine kisi ko bola (Neither someone asked me nor did I say it to anyone). This is again created by people who got vested interest.”

Divya expressed shock that the negative articles were carried by major news outlets and surfaced on her birthday. Bhatt then suggested the timing was deliberate:

Mukesh Bhatt: “Beta, now you can understand that this is planned. The fact that it has come on your birthday means somebody who wants to hurt you… This is a backlash from the other camp.”

Bhatt repeatedly assured Divya of his “pure relationship” with her and advised her to “rise above this stupid thing.”

Calling Out the “Industry Mafia”

Divya posted the audio with an emotionally charged caption, stating she felt “compelled” to make the exchange public to expose systemic malpractice in Bollywood.

I will raise my voice — and I will fight this out.”

The Savi vs. Jigra Controversy

The initial feud, which began around the release of Jigra (2024), centered on similar plotlines: both films feature a female protagonist going to extreme lengths to free a loved one (husband in Savi, brother in Jigra) from a foreign jail. Divya had also publicly accused the makers of Jigra of inflating their box office figures by posting an image of an empty theatre.

While Mukesh Bhatt had earlier defended his niece, Alia Bhatt, saying she was “too big” to engage in cheap tactics like stealing ideas, the release of this phone recording has shifted the focus from the plagiarism claims to the alleged practice of planting negative press to discredit artists.
