Do Patti Trailer: Kajol Leads the Investigation in Kriti Sanon’s Twisted Tale of Twin Sisters

October 14, 2024: The much-anticipated trailer for Do Patti has dropped, giving audiences a glimpse into a gripping, twisted thriller. The Netflix film, set to premiere on October 25, marks Kriti Sanon’s debut as a producer and features her in a double role as twin sisters. The story is penned by acclaimed writer Kanika Dhillon and also stars Kajol in her first role as a police officer.

Trailer Breakdown

The Do Patti trailer opens with Kajol’s character, Vidya Jyothi, interrogating Shaheer Sheikh in a tense police station setting. She probes him about the morning of a mysterious accident, and we are taken back to the events leading up to it. Shaheer’s character is romantically involved with one of Kriti Sanon’s twin characters, but things take a dark turn when her twin sister gets involved.

The relationship between the sisters is fraught with tension, with their mother likening their rivalry to that of the Mahabharata brothers who waged war. As the plot unravels, one of the twins accuses Shaheer’s character of attempted murder, and Kajol’s police character dives deeper into the twisted web of sibling rivalry and betrayal.

Cast and Crew Insights

Kriti Sanon, excited about her dual role and her debut as a producer, shared, “Do Patti is incredibly special to me, not just because it’s my first film as a producer, but also because it allowed me to explore my own duality on-screen. This film has been like my baby, and Kanika and I have nurtured it from the start, especially in our capacity as producers.”

Kajol, reflecting on her new role, said, “This is the first time I’m playing a police officer, and I can’t wait for my fans to see me in this new avatar. Bringing this powerful story to life has been rewarding.”

Writer and producer Kanika Dhillon added, “Do Patti is very close to my heart. Collaborating with two powerhouse performers—Kriti and Kajol—was an absolute delight. The tale of sibling rivalry and redemption is a powerful one, and I’m glad that this story will reach audiences worldwide thanks to Netflix.”

Do Patti is directed by Shashanka Chaturvedi and reunites Kriti Sanon and Kajol after their collaboration in Dilwale (2015).
