Dolly Parton announces her new music album on 78th birthday

On Friday, Dolly Parton, an actress and country music icon, celebrated her 78th birthday by revealing new music. Dolly announced on Instagram that she is celebrating the milestone with some brand-new music. The celebrity wrote, “A surprise! Listen to ‘Rockstar Deluxe’ on any streaming service.” “Hey friends and supporters, “It’s my birthday, so I’m going to give you a present!” she said at the start of the picture she shared with the message.

Parton continued, “I’m releasing four never-released songs for my birthday, to go with the Rockstar album, and a few others that you may have heard before that were not on the album. I hope you enjoy them, and I hope you all have a happy birthday for me! LOL.” She concluded her message with a sweet note to her fans, writing, “Thanks for everything, Dolly.” The new deluxe version of her rock-inspired album Rockstar, featuring unique additional tracks, follows the album’s first release in November of last year.

In May 2023, Parton revealed the release date and that the thirty-song album would include nine original songs and twenty classic covers. “I’m thrilled to finally share Rockstar, my debut rock and roll record! Being able to perform all of the well-known songs from the album was an immense thrill, and I feel incredibly honored and blessed to have collaborated with some of the best famous singers and musicians of all time,” she stated in a press release at the time. “I hope everybody enjoys the album as much as I’ve enjoyed putting it together!” she said.
