Drishyam 3: Mohanlal's Film To Release Worldwide On THIS Date
The wait is officially over for fans of the iconic crime-thriller franchise. Malayalam superstar Mohanlal has confirmed that the third installment of the celebrated series, Drishyam 3, will hit theaters worldwide on April 2, 2026.
The announcement, made on Wednesday, January 14, was accompanied by a chilling teaser that promises to unravel the final threads of Georgekutty’s long-standing secret.
Directed by the franchise’s mastermind Jeethu Joseph, the third film carries the haunting tagline: “Years passed. The past didn’t.” This suggests that the shadows of the crime committed in the original 2013 film continue to haunt the family, despite Georgekutty’s masterstrokes in the 2021 sequel.
The Drishyam franchise has become a cultural phenomenon, not just in Kerala but globally, with remakes in several languages including Hindi, Chinese, and Korean.
Despite the massive hype, director Jeethu Joseph has urged audiences to approach the film with an open mind. Speaking at a recent event in Kochi, he stated:
“Drishyam is a film that has influenced many people and carries a weight of its own. I ask everyone to watch it without setting their expectations too high. We have tried to do justice to the journey Georgekutty began over a decade ago.”
The film’s production wrapped up in December 2025, following a rigorous schedule in locations like Thodupuzha and Vagamon. With the teaser showcasing symbolic elements like a shovel, a submerged car, and a CCTV camera, fans are already dissecting every frame for clues about how the truth might finally unfold.
