Dua Lipa Slams Report of Firing Agent David Levy Over Controversial Glastonbury Letter

Dua Lipa has publicly denied a report that she fired her agent over a controversial letter related to Glastonbury, calling the story “categorically false.” While criticizing her former team member’s actions, the singer condemned the media for exploiting the situation.

September 24, 2025: Pop superstar Dua Lipa has publicly refuted a story published by The Daily Mail claiming she fired her long-time agent, David Levy, for his alleged attempt to have the Irish hip-hop trio Kneecap removed from the Glastonbury Festival lineup. The report suggested the dismissal was due to Levy’s perceived anti-Palestinian stance, which conflicts with Lipa’s outspoken support for the Palestinian cause.

In a statement posted on her Instagram Stories, Dua Lipa called the story “completely false” and “deliberately inflammatory.” She wrote, “I do not condone the actions of David Levy or other music executives toward an artist speaking their truth.” However, she added that the reporting by The Daily Mail was “crafted purely for clickbait” and “designed to fuel online division.” She stressed the importance of the Palestinian cause, stating, “It is always Free Palestine but exploiting a global tragedy in order to sell newspapers is something I find deeply troubling.”

Lipa’s agency, WME, also issued a statement to clarify the situation. They confirmed that reports suggesting Lipa or her management fired an agent over political views are “categorically false.” The agency explained that David Levy had an advisory role with Lipa’s team but had not been involved in her day-to-day business since 2019, when he moved out of London. WME stated that Levy “fully removed himself from the project among others earlier this year,” clarifying that his departure was not a recent firing related to the controversy.

The Irish hip-hop group Kneecap, composed of Mo Chara, Móglaí Bap, and DJ Próvaí, is known for its pro-Palestinian and Irish Republican views. A leaked “private and confidential” letter, reportedly signed by several music industry executives including Levy, had been sent to Glastonbury organizers urging them to drop the group from the festival lineup. Despite this campaign, Kneecap’s performance at Glastonbury went ahead as planned.

Dua Lipa, who has consistently used her platform to advocate for Palestinian rights and has condemned what she calls “Israeli genocide” in Gaza, made it clear that while she disagrees with the actions of those who attempted to silence Kneecap, the media’s handling of the situation was irresponsible and designed to create further conflict.
