February 5, 2025: Pop sensation Ed Sheeran recently met Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman and his son AR Ameen ahead of his grand performance in Chennai on February 5. Sheeran is currently on a six-city tour across India, which includes performances in Hyderabad, Chennai, Bengaluru, Shillong, and Delhi.
Ahead of his Chennai show, AR Rahman shared pictures on Instagram from his meeting with Sheeran and Ameen. In the photos, the three were seen lounging together, with one picture showing Rahman at his music console while Sheeran captured the moment. Rahman credited the beautiful photographs to Sheeran in his post caption.
This meeting sparked speculation among fans about a possible music collaboration between the two iconic musicians. Fans flooded the comment section with excitement over the idea of them working together.
Ed Sheeran kicked off his + – = / x India tour in Pune on January 30, where he expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to perform in different cities across India. This was his second time performing in India, with previous shows in Mumbai. Sheeran shared his excitement about performing in various Indian cities, saying he always feels like a tourist and is grateful for the warm reception.
The Indian leg of the tour was opened by singer-actor Dot., known for her role in The Archies. After Pune, Sheeran performed in Hyderabad at Ramoji Film City on February 2, with popular singer Armaan Malik opening the show. The tour, which is produced by AEG Presents Asia and BookMyShow Live, will continue in Chennai, Bengaluru, Shillong, and Delhi.
