Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat BO Collection Day 2: Harshvardhan Rane-Sonam Bajwa’s Romance Defies Negative Reviews and Screen Shortage

The Milap Zaveri directorial showed impressive resilience, collecting a total of ₹16.50 crore against a ₹30 crore budget. The film’s success confirms that audience love for romance can override stiff competition and critical backlash.

October 23, 2025: Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa’s latest release, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat, has emerged as a box office dark horse, delivering a surprisingly steady performance through its first two days despite a significant screen count disadvantage and a clash with a rival film, Thamma.

The romantic drama, directed by Milap Zaveri, started strong on its opening day, minting an impressive ₹9 crore. While it saw a slight drop on day two, the numbers remained resilient. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film collected an estimated ₹7.50 crore on Wednesday, bringing its two-day domestic total to a solid ₹16.50 crore.

The film’s performance is particularly noteworthy given its relatively modest production cost. With a reported budget of just ₹30 crore, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat is now projected to comfortably surpass its budget and enter profit territory within the extended holiday weekend.

The positive box office trend comes in the face of predominantly negative reviews from critics. The Free Press Journal, for instance, rated the film 2.5 stars, calling it a “well-meaning melodrama that confuses intensity for depth” but acknowledged its “audacious sincerity.”

However, it appears the audience’s desire for a romantic offering, coupled with the star power of Rane and Bajwa, has successfully driven footfall to the theatres. With Thursday also being a public holiday, trade analysts expect the film to stabilize or even register a slight jump, capitalizing on the long festive window to cement its commercial success. The film’s robust start suggests that audience sentiment is currently overriding critical reception.
