The 10-track collaboration honors rock legends, blends emotional ballads and upbeat tributes, and leads to a special CBS concert event.
Los Angeles, April 4:
Music icons Elton John and Brandi Carlile have officially released their highly anticipated collaborative album, Who Believes in Angels. The album, produced by Grammy-winner Andrew Watt, features lyrics by Bernie Taupin, Elton’s lifelong creative partner.
The 10-track album includes eight duets and one solo track each by John and Carlile, showcasing a dynamic blend of emotion, nostalgia, and raw musical chemistry.
🎶 Title Track & Tribute to Legends
The album’s title track, “Who Believes in Angels?”, was accompanied by a music video released in February. Described as a “kaleidoscopic tribute to the rock & roll angels,” it honors late legends like Tina Turner and Little Richard, whose legacies continue to shape generations of musicians.
Hours ahead of the album drop, the duo also released a lyric video for the second track, “Little Richard’s Bible”, a more upbeat, energetic number that adds texture and contrast to the album’s tone.
🌟 Upcoming Special: An Evening with Elton John and Brandi Carlile
To celebrate the album’s launch, the duo will appear in a one-night-only television event titled An Evening with Elton John and Brandi Carlile, airing Sunday, April 6 at 8 PM local time on CBS.
Produced by Fulwell Entertainment, the concert special was filmed at London’s Palladium Theatre on March 26 and features live performances, intimate conversations, and exclusive behind-the-scenes stories about their friendship and the making of the album.
Both artists will perform collaborative tracks, individual classics, and Carlile will debut an unreleased original song.
🗣️ Raw and Real Moments
During the concert filming, Elton and Brandi opened up about deeply personal subjects — from Elton’s take on his legacy (“nothing to do with Crocodile f**ing Rock*,” he joked) to the emotional weight of making music amid global turmoil.
“It doesn’t seem right to be trying to make a record when this horrible stuff is going on,” Elton said, reflecting on the backdrop of global conflict while writing the album.
