Following the deadly terror strike in Pahalgam, actor Suniel Shetty calls for solidarity, support for Kashmiris, and applauds the government’s decision to deploy the Army.
Mumbai, April 30:
Veteran Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty has spoken out following the horrific terror attack in Pahalgam, urging the nation to unite against hate and fear. In a statement, Shetty emphasized the need for national solidarity and encouraged citizens to continue visiting Kashmir to show resilience against terrorism.
“Everyone should do this because we have to stay united. This hatred has to stop,” Shetty said, reflecting on the growing efforts of entrepreneurs and Kashmiri Pandits to rebuild life and business in the Valley. “People were going to Kashmir to open new businesses. It was all so beautiful. We need to preserve that spirit,” he added.
The actor also welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s move to involve the Indian Army in handling the aftermath of the April 22 attack. “I am happy that the PM has taken the call today to involve the Army. Once this goes into the hands of the military, the situation will be handled in the best possible way,” Shetty said.
He continued, “We have to stop the hatred and fear… The situation is such that we must support each other. Unity is our greatest strength.”
The terror attack in Baisaran, Pahalgam, claimed the lives of 26 people, including 25 Indian nationals and one Nepali tourist. It is one of the deadliest attacks in Jammu and Kashmir since the 2019 Pulwama tragedy that took 40 CRPF lives.
