Actor shares tense airport experience amid Iran attack scare, thanks UAE and India

March 3, 2026: Actor Esha Gupta has opened up about the frightening hours she spent in Abu Dhabi after the United States and Israel reportedly launched attacks on Iran, triggering airport closures and panic. In a detailed Instagram post, she described the situation as “very tough” and said she felt blessed to return home safely. Esha revealed that she was at the airport on February 28 when operations were abruptly halted around 1 pm, leading to confusion as news of missile attacks began circulating. Since she had not checked in, she returned to her hotel while stranded passengers waited for further instructions.

Praising the swift response of the Ministry of Interior – UAE and airport authorities, Esha highlighted how ground staff, security personnel, and hotel management remained calm despite the uncertainty. She shared that passengers were provided cash for food, accommodation across Abu Dhabi, and bus transfers by night. Emergency alerts advising people to seek shelter were sent to phones, followed by reassurance notifications when the situation stabilised. She also noted that services continued uninterrupted, with hotel staff and delivery workers staying on duty and airline Etihad Airways offering rebooking and refund options.

Esha said she eventually boarded the first commercial Etihad flight to Delhi once limited operations resumed, commending airline staff for their composure and support. Expressing gratitude to both the Indian and UAE governments, she thanked authorities for ensuring citizens’ safety and coordinating their return home. Her Instagram post, captioned with folded hands emojis and with comments disabled, has already received thousands of likes as fans expressed relief over her safe return.
