December 7, 2024: The Red Sea International Film Festival (RSIFF) commenced in grand style, welcoming a stellar lineup of Hollywood and global icons to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Now in its fourth year, the festival opened with a celebration of cinematic excellence and cultural storytelling.
This year’s highlights included Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan, Academy Award nominee Emily Blunt, and action icon Vin Diesel, each honored for their immense contributions to global cinema.
Aamir Khan Honored by Eva Longoria
Aamir Khan was introduced by actress Eva Longoria, who expressed her admiration for the Bollywood legend. She commended Aamir for his influential body of work, highlighting iconic films such as Lagaan, 3 Idiots, and Dangal, which have left an indelible mark on audiences worldwide.
Speaking at the event, Aamir reflected on the honor of being recognized on such an international stage. Eva praised him as a visionary whose films transcend borders and cultures.
Emily Blunt’s Heartfelt Thanks
Emily Blunt, also recognized at the festival, delivered an emotional speech upon receiving the Red Sea Honoree Award. “I am very, very moved. It’s a pleasure to be part of such a vibrant and dynamic film festival,” she said, emphasizing the universal power of stories to connect cultures.
The award was presented to Emily by the celebrated Michelle Yeoh, who introduced her as one of cinema’s finest.
Vin Diesel and Kareena Kapoor Light Up the Night
Vin Diesel, presented by his Fast & Furious co-star Michelle Rodriguez, lauded the intimate atmosphere of the festival. “You can feel the warmth,” Diesel remarked, praising the unique energy of the Red Sea event.
Bollywood’s Kareena Kapoor was also among the luminaries who graced the red carpet, adding her signature elegance to the glitzy ceremony.

Running until December 14, the Red Sea International Film Festival will showcase 122 films from 80 countries, focusing on underrepresented voices and promoting cross-cultural dialogue. The event underscores the enduring power of cinema to bring people together, echoing the sentiments shared by the honourees.
