Exciting News! ‘Bridgerton’ Season 4 Shooting Officially Begins

Lights, camera, action! Filming for the highly anticipated fourth season of Bridgerton has officially kicked off.

On Monday, Netflix took to Instagram to share a first look at the cast, creating a buzz among fans. The post revealed that Yerin Ha and Luke Thompson will headline the season as Sophie Baek and Benedict Bridgerton.

The official post on Netflix’s Instagram read: “Please rise for Sophie Baek & Benedict Bridgerton!!! Here’s your first official photo of Yerin Ha and Luke Thompson on the set of Bridgerton Season 4. Now OFFICIALLY in production.”

Yerin Ha, known for her role in Halo, will portray Sophie Baek, a maid with a hidden and mysterious past.

Speaking about her character, Ha said, “What drew me to Sophie was that she immediately has obstacles — something that she constantly has to overcome. Whether it’s this battle around social status or trying to hide her feelings from Benedict.” Meanwhile, Luke Thompson returns as Benedict Bridgerton, the second-eldest Bridgerton sibling, who will find himself captivated by Sophie after a chance encounter at his mother’s masquerade ball.

Season 3, which focused on the beloved couple Penelope and Colin (affectionately dubbed “Polin” by fans), set viewership records as one of Netflix’s most-watched shows. Now, season 4 shifts the spotlight to Benedict and Sophie’s love story.

Showrunner Jess Brownell hinted in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter that fans may have to wait two years for the fourth season to air. “We are working to try and put the seasons out more quickly, but they do take eight months to film, and then they have to be edited, and dubbed into every language,” she explained.

Season 4 will consist of eight episodes and promises another round of romantic drama, elegant costumes, and Regency-era charm. Alongside Yerin Ha and Luke Thompson, the series will feature returning cast members Claudia Jessie, Golda Rosheuvel, Adjoa Andoh, and Ruth Gemmell.

Fans of the Bridgerton series can eagerly look forward to this captivating chapter, but with production just beginning, it may be a bit of a wait!
