Fabulous Lives vs Bollywood Wives: Netizens Aren't Impressed
October 19, 2024: The much-anticipated Fabulous Lives vs Bollywood Wives premiered on Netflix on October 18, marking the third instalment of the popular series The Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives. This time, the show brings a fresh twist with a dash of “Delhi ka tadka.” Joining the original cast—Maheep Kapoor, Bhavana Panday, Neelam Kothari, and Seema Sajdeh—are three new faces from Delhi: Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, entrepreneur Kalyani Saha Chawla (founder of luxury silverware brand Razon), and art and design collector Shalini Passi.
The new season attempts to spice things up by pitting Mumbai’s Bollywood wives against these high-society Delhi women, making for an interesting contrast between the two cities’ cultures. Fans can also look forward to some star-studded cameos from Bollywood favourites like Saif Ali Khan, Karan Johar, and Gauri Khan. But many netizen’s are finding contrived and boring.
Netizens have shared a wide range of opinions on social media.
Some fans appreciate the glamorous lives and entertaining drama, while many feel the new Delhi-based cast members do little to add to the show’s appeal.
The rivalry between Delhi and Mumbai, which the show tries to play on, also feels forced to some.
Despite the star power and lavish lifestyle on display, many viewers are still left wondering if the show brings anything truly new to the table.
Is it just more of the same glitter and gossip, or does the new season offer a fresh take on the lives of these Bollywood wives and Delhi’s elite?
