Farah Khan Shares Hilarious Codeword Story with Anil Kapoor

Filmmaker-choreographer Farah Khan recently revealed the amusing backstory behind calling actor Anil Kapoor “Papaji.” Farah shared this fun anecdote during her appearance on ‘The Great Indian Kapil Show’ alongside Anil Kapoor.

Farah explained that the nickname originated while working on the film 1942: A Love Story with Vidhu Vinod Chopra. She said, “Whenever he did something impressive, we would praise him, ‘Papaji, you are great!’ or ‘Papaji, you are poppo!’ Eventually, ‘Papaji’ became our codeword. Since then, whenever Anil and I meet, we greet each other with ‘Papaji.'”

During the show, host Kapil Sharma asked who between Anil and Farah is more ‘kanjoos’ (stingy). Farah humorously confirmed that both are generous but revealed Bollywood’s ultimate miser, Chunky Panday, by calling him live on the show to ask for Rs 500. Chunky’s hilarious responses, pretending not to recognize Farah, left the audience in splits.
