Fardeen Khan Thanks Kareena Kapoor as ‘Dev’ Turns 20

Actor Fardeen Khan recently took a nostalgic journey as his film ‘Dev’ celebrated its 20th anniversary. Reflecting on the cherished memories and experiences from the set, Fardeen shared a heartfelt post on Instagram, expressing his gratitude towards Kareena Kapoor Khan, who played a pivotal role in his casting.

Directed by Govind Nihalani, ‘Dev’ also starred Amitabh Bachchan and Om Puri. Fardeen posted a clip featuring moments from the film along with a heartfelt note on Tuesday.

“20 Years of Dev. It was my third film with @kareenakapoorkhan and it was she who recommended me for the role, and I will always be grateful to her for that. Being signed by Govind Nihalani for a film with legends like @amitabhbachchan and Om Puri was a huge endorsement for any actor. Govindji was highly respected and was known for his careful direction and powerful storytelling,” Fardeen wrote.

He also shared his admiration and experience working alongside the legendary Amitabh Bachchan. “This role gave me the chance to work on a film that was relevant and meaningful, which was rare at the time. But the greatest takeaway for me from ‘Dev’ was getting to share the screen with Amitji, an actor I idolize. His life and most amazing career have had a profound influence on Indian cinema and has left an indelible mark on not just me but on every Indian. It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, a true honor, and an absolute privilege to work with him, making it one of the highlights of my career,” Fardeen added.

Fardeen and Kareena also shared the screen in ‘Fida’ and ‘Khushi,’ further cementing their on-screen chemistry.

In addition to celebrating ‘Dev,’ Fardeen Khan has made a notable comeback after a 14-year hiatus with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s debut web series ‘Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar.’ Set against the backdrop of India’s struggle for independence in the 1940s, the series delves into the lives of courtesans and their patrons, exploring the cultural dynamics of Heera Mandi. Streaming on Netflix, ‘Heeramandi’ has earned Fardeen praise for his compelling performance.

As Fardeen Khan looks back on his journey in ‘Dev,’ he continues to captivate audiences with his enduring talent and dedication to meaningful storytelling.
