February 13, 2025: Actor Farhan Akhtar celebrated his daughter Akira’s 18th birthday with a heartfelt post on Instagram, sharing a special moment between the father-daughter duo.
In a sweet mirror selfie, Farhan stands behind Akira as she happily takes the photo, showcasing their close bond. Along with the picture, Farhan penned a touching message to his daughter, saying, “Happy birthday @akiraakhtar .. you go ahead and be your incredible self .. I got your back. Love you.”
The post received an outpouring of love from fans and celebrities alike. Farhan’s sister, filmmaker Zoya Akhtar, left a heart and hug emoji in the comments, while veteran actress Shabana Azmi and actress Dia Mirza also wished Akira on her special day with heartfelt messages and emojis. Akira, the daughter of Farhan and his ex-wife Adhuna, turned 18 on Thursday. Farhan and Adhuna divorced a few years ago, and in 2022, Farhan remarried actress and VJ Shibani Dandekar, after dating for several years.
On the professional front, Farhan Akhtar is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film, Superboys of Malegaon, which he is producing alongside Zoya Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani. Directed by Reema Kagti, the film tells the inspiring story of Nasir Shaikh, an aspiring filmmaker from Malegaon who strives to make movies with his friends despite facing numerous challenges. The film, starring Adarsh Gourav, Vineet Kumar Singh, and Shashank Arora, is based on a true story and will hit theatres on February 28.
