Fateh Box Office Collection Day 2: At Rs. 4.4 Crore Collection, Film Faces Dip Amid Competition from 'Game Changer'
January 12, 2025: Sonu Sood’s directorial debut, Fateh, witnessed a minor dip at the box office on its second day. The action entertainer, which opened with ₹2.4 crore on Friday, earned ₹2 crore on Saturday, according to Sacnilk. This ₹40 lakh drop is unexpected, as films generally see a spike over the weekend.

The movie, which stars Jacqueline Fernandez alongside Sonu Sood, is facing tough competition from the Hindi dubbed version of S. Shankar’s big-budget Telugu film, Game Changer, featuring Ram Charan and Kiara Advani.
The makers of Fateh had kept Friday’s ticket prices at ₹99 to draw audiences. Sonu Sood shared in a video on social media that this strategy was intended to make the film accessible to everyone. “Fateh is a film made for the common man, and I wanted it to reach everyone in the most accessible way across India,” Sonu explained, adding that he plans to donate the film’s profits to charity.
However, as standard weekend ticket prices resumed on Saturday, the collections dropped. Despite its unique premise about cybercrime inspired by real-life incidents during the COVID-19 pandemic, the film received mixed reviews, which may have contributed to its lukewarm performance.
Produced by Shakti Sagar Productions and Zee Studios, Fateh features a compelling cast, including Vijay Raaz and Naseeruddin Shah, alongside Sonu and Jacqueline. The production also boasts Hollywood-level action choreography and cinematography.
The storyline of Fateh revolves around courage and resilience, tackling the rising menace of cybercrime. However, according to a Hindustan Times review, while Sonu Sood’s direction stands out, the screenplay lacks novelty. “The slick action eventually stops evoking shock, and the digital scam subplot feels amateur. It’s a film that pretends to spread awareness, but I, for one, came away learning nothing new,” the review stated.
With its total collection standing at ₹4.4 crore in two days, Fateh faces an uphill battle to sustain its momentum. The fierce competition from Game Changer, coupled with mixed reviews, poses a challenge to its box office journey.
