Fateh Box Office Day 4: Sonu Sood’s Directorial Produced at a Budget of Rs. 40 Crores, Faces Major Slump

January 14, 2025: Sonu Sood’s directorial debut, Fateh, faced a significant drop in box office collections on its first Monday. As per early estimates reported by Sacnilk.com, the film earned just ₹85 lakh nett, taking its total to ₹7.60 crore since its release on January 10. The action-packed film has been receiving mixed reviews and struggling to hold its ground against bigger releases.

Fateh opened with ₹2.4 crore on day one, followed by ₹2.1 crore and ₹2.25 crore on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. The film recorded an overall 10.37% occupancy on Monday, highlighting its diminishing appeal among audiences.

The film’s release coincided with Ram Charan and Kiara Advani’s Game Changer, a highly anticipated action film with a Hindi-dubbed version that has posed stiff competition to Fateh.

Fateh is estimated to be made on an overall budget of 40 Crores all inclusive of Prints and advertising costs. Fateh was directed and produced by Sonu Sood.

Speaking about his experience directing Fateh, Sonu Sood recently told ANI, “When you become a director, you have the opportunity to craft every detail. I wrote each action sequence, including elements like whether the character would be hit with a plate, spoon, pen, or drill. We spent 2.5 months on an action shot, and the appreciation we’ve received reflects the effort we put in.”

During the promotions, Sonu shared his emotional journey of becoming a director. “Stepping into the director’s chair for the first time with Fateh has been a journey of passion and purpose. This action saga highlights the unseen battles fought in the digital world,” he said.

Fateh draws inspiration from real-life events during the Covid-19 pandemic and explores the fight against cybercrime. Alongside Sonu Sood, the film stars Jacqueline Fernandez, Naseeruddin Shah, and Vijay Raaz.
