‘Fauda’ Returns for Season 5 – A Story of Chaos, Conflict, and Resilience

The globally acclaimed Israeli action thriller begins filming in late April, with new missions unfolding across Israel and beyond.

‘Fauda’ Season 5 Set for 2026 Premiere, Filming to Begin in April

Washington [US], March 5The hit action-thriller series ‘Fauda’ is officially returning for a fifth season, with production set to begin in late April.

The upcoming season will take the Fauda team beyond Israel’s borders, as the undercover operatives embark on a high-stakes private mission, reported Variety.

Created by Lior Raz and journalist Avi Issacharoff, Fauda (meaning chaos in Arabic) is known for its intense action, gripping storytelling, and portrayal of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Elite Team Returns, But Story Remains Under Wraps

While plot details remain undisclosed, Season 5 will be helmed by an all-star creative team, including:

  • Writer Omri Shenhar (Tehran)
  • Director Omri Givon (Hostages), returning after directing Season 4

The new season will premiere on Yes TV in Israel in early 2026, followed by a global release on Netflix, continuing the platform’s commitment to bringing international thrillers to a worldwide audience.

Sharon Levi, managing director of Yes Studios, celebrated the show’s decade-long success:

“In February 2015, ‘Fauda’ premiered on Yes TV, and in the past 10 years, we’ve seen this series grow into a worldwide phenomenon. We can’t think of a better way to commemorate this anniversary than by bringing ‘Fauda’ back for another season to be enjoyed by its dedicated fans all over the world.”

Production Delays & Real-Life Tragedies Impact Storyline

The development of Season 5 faced delays due to the October 7 Hamas attack and the subsequent war in Gaza. The tragic loss of key production member Matan Meir, who was killed while serving in the IDF, and the serious injury of cast member Idan Amedi in an explosion, deeply impacted the show’s creators.

Reports indicate that the storyline for Season 5 had to be rewritten in light of these real-world events, reflecting the ever-evolving conflict in the Middle East.

Award-Winning & Globally Acclaimed

Since its debut, Fauda has earned critical acclaim for its authenticity, raw performances, and gripping narrative, winning multiple Israeli Academy TV Awards for:

  • Best Series
  • Best Screenplay
  • Best Director
  • Best Actor (Lior Raz)

As Fauda continues to push storytelling boundaries, Season 5 promises to be another thrilling chapter in the saga of undercover operatives navigating the complexities of modern-day conflict.

What’s Next for ‘Fauda’?

With filming set to begin soon, fans eagerly await more details on:

  • New international locations featured in the storyline
  • Whether key characters will return or be replaced
  • How real-world geopolitical events will shape the upcoming season

Will Fauda continue its gritty, action-packed legacy, or will Season 5 take an entirely new direction? The wait for 2026 begins.
