Fearless and Fierce! Kajol Battles Ancient Evil in Gripping Maa Trailer

Kajol Unleashes Her Fierce Maternal Instinct in Chilling Trailer of ‘Maa’

May 29, 2025: The much-anticipated trailer of Kajol’s supernatural thriller Maa has been unveiled, and it promises a spine-chilling blend of Bengali folklore and maternal fury. Directed by Vishal Furia, best known for the Chhorii franchise, Maa delves into the ancient legends of rakshas (demons) and explores the emotional strength of a mother determined to protect her child at all costs.

A Glimpse Into the Trailer

The trailer opens with Kajol and her daughter seeking refuge in a secluded, eerie forest house. Peace is short-lived as the daughter strays into a cursed area haunted by a demon.

The haunting visuals, atmospheric tension, and supernatural forces bring strong echoes of Chhorii and Chhorii 2, especially with the use of mother-daughter bonding as a central emotional anchor.

The trailer reaches its emotional crescendo with Kajol declaring:

“Jab tak teri maa tere saath hai, tera koi kuch nahi bigaad sakta.”
(As long as your mother is with you, no one can ever harm you.)

Cast and Production

Maa features an impressive ensemble cast including Indraneil Sengupta, Ronit Roy, and Jitin Gulati, with Kajol in the lead. The film is produced by Ajay Devgn and Jyoti Deshpande, underlining a strong backing for this intense horror-drama.

Shared Universe With Shaitaan?

Kajol recently hinted that Maa might be connected to Ajay Devgn’s psychological thriller Shaitaan, sparking speculation that a shared cinematic universe is in the making. While full details are still under wraps, fans are already drawing narrative links between the two films.

Kajol and Prabhu Deva Reunite

Maa also marks the much-awaited reunion of Kajol and Prabhu Deva, nearly 30 years after their last collaboration in Minsara Kanavu (1997). Interestingly, the film brings Prabhu Deva back to acting after years spent directing behind the camera.

With its mix of folklore, fear, and fierce motherhood, Maa is shaping up to be a must-watch for horror lovers and fans of emotionally driven thrillers.
