Felicity Huffman Joins FOX’s Doc Season 2 as Series Regular

The Desperate Housewives and American Crime star Felicity Huffman returns to FOX as Dr. Joan Ridley in the second season of the acclaimed medical drama.

Felicity Huffman is set to join the cast of FOX’s Doc Season 2 in a series regular role, marking a major return to primetime drama.

Huffman will portray Dr. Joan Ridley, described as Dr. Amy Larsen’s (Molly Parker) former med school professor and early mentor, who now returns as the new Chief of Internal Medicine at Westside Hospital. Her character is expected to play a pivotal role in Amy’s continued struggle to reclaim her identity and professional standing after the traumatic events of Season 1.

Joining Huffman and returning lead Molly Parker, Season 2 of Doc also stars Omar Metwally, Jon Ecker, Amirah Vann, Anya Banerjee, Patrick Walker, and Charlotte Fountain-Jardim.

This marks a return to FOX for Huffman, who recently appeared in the network’s anthology crime drama Accused. She is best known for her Emmy-nominated role as Lynette Scavo in ABC’s Desperate Housewives, as well as her critically acclaimed performance in American Crime, which earned her three more Emmy nominations. Huffman’s recent credits include The Good Doctor and Criminal Minds: Evolution. She was also nominated for an Academy Award for her lead role in the 2006 film Transamerica.

Huffman is represented by Atlas Artists and Wolf Kasteler Public Relations.

Season 2 Overview:
According to the official logline, Doc Season 2 follows powerhouse physician Dr. Amy Larsen as she continues to rebuild her life after a devastating car accident erased eight years of her memory. No longer the Chief of Internal Medicine, Amy must begin again as an intern, confronting the mysteries of her missing years and facing emotional and professional challenges that test her resilience.

Based on the acclaimed Italian series Nelle tue mani, Doc is produced by Sony Pictures Television and FOX Entertainment Studios, with Barbie Kligman and Hank Steinberg serving as co-showrunners and executive producers. Other executive producers include Erwin Stoff, Russell Fine, John Weber, Frank Siracusa, Carol Barbee, and David Foster.
