Felicity Huffman is set to join the cast of FOX’s Doc Season 2 in a series regular role, marking a major return to primetime drama.

Huffman will portray Dr. Joan Ridley, described as Dr. Amy Larsen’s (Molly Parker) former med school professor and early mentor, who now returns as the new Chief of Internal Medicine at Westside Hospital. Her character is expected to play a pivotal role in Amy’s continued struggle to reclaim her identity and professional standing after the traumatic events of Season 1.

Joining Huffman and returning lead Molly Parker, Season 2 of Doc also stars Omar Metwally, Jon Ecker, Amirah Vann, Anya Banerjee, Patrick Walker, and Charlotte Fountain-Jardim.

This marks a return to FOX for Huffman, who recently appeared in the network’s anthology crime drama Accused. Huffman’s recent credits include The Good Doctor and Criminal Minds: Evolution. She was also nominated for an Academy Award for her lead role in the 2006 film Transamerica.

Huffman is represented by Atlas Artists and Wolf Kasteler Public Relations.
