April 15: Ibrahim Ali Khan, son of Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, has finally addressed the viral screenshot that sparked a wave of social media attention.
The image, which showed Ibrahim clapping back at a Pakistani critic over a comment about his nose, had gone viral, drawing both criticism and support online.
In an interview, the Naadaniyaan actor confirmed that he did indeed send the message seen in the screenshot. Admitting his response may have been impulsive, Ibrahim said he is still learning how to deal with public scrutiny.
“I know I shouldn’t have reacted, but I’m also new to public scrutiny. When he made that personal comment about my body, it felt like a below-the-belt remark. But going forward, I’ll be more composed. It won’t happen again,” Ibrahim shared.
Reflecting on the backlash surrounding his debut film Naadaniyaan, Ibrahim also spoke candidly about the pressures of being in the public eye and acknowledged the critical reception of his performance.
“Social media is a hateful world right now. They tried to twist it a lot… Sure, as a lead actor, I have to bring in loads more than what I did. I know I can bring it, and I am confident that I will bring it in my future projects,” he said.
Sharmila Tagore Shares Honest Thoughts
Veteran actress and grandmother Sharmila Tagore did not hold back in her recent review of Naadaniyaan. In a conversation with AnandabazarPatrika.com, she praised her grandchildren’s efforts but was honest about the film’s shortcomings.
“Sara and Ibrahim are doing a wonderful job. Ibrahim’s film was not good, but he still looks very handsome. He has tried his best… but honestly, the picture isn’t great. Ultimately, the picture has to be good.”
Soha Ali Khan Offers Advice on Handling Criticism
Actress Soha Ali Khan, Ibrahim’s aunt, also weighed in on the situation during promotions for her upcoming film Chhorii 2. Offering words of encouragement, she emphasized the importance of developing a thick skin in the film industry.
“You have to be receptive to certain criticism, and you have to work on your craft and go forward,” Soha advised, adding that while ignoring negative comments is one strategy, sometimes they can also serve as useful feedback.
As Ibrahim navigates the early days of his acting career, his recent comments reflect a maturing approach toward fame, criticism, and personal growth
