‘Final Destination: Bloodlines’ Holds Strong Against MI8, Crosses $100M Globally in Just 4 Days

Despite clashing with Mission Impossible 8, the horror franchise entry earns ₹22.10 crore in India and storms past $102 million globally, becoming the highest-grossing Final Destination film to date.

May 19, 2025: Final Destination: Bloodlines has surprised the box office with a strong global run, despite going head-to-head with one of the year’s biggest releases — Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning. Released just two days apart in India, the horror film has managed to carve out its own success story.

According to Sacnilk, Bloodlines raked in ₹22.10 crore in its opening four-day weekend in India, a remarkable feat for a niche horror film. This figure is nearly double what recent superhero films like Captain America: Brave New World managed during their opening weekends.

Industry insiders revealed that some exhibitors had initially planned to cut Bloodlines screenings in favor of Tom Cruise’s big-ticket actioner, but the film’s positive audience reception has earned it additional showtimes. As horror films generally hold up well on weekdays, trade experts expect minimal drop in numbers on Monday.

Global Performance

Internationally, Bloodlines is performing even better. It amassed $51 million in its North American debut and matched that number in international markets, including $2.6 million from India. This takes its global weekend total to $102 million, making it the highest-grossing film in the franchise’s history and placing it among the top 10 highest-grossing films of 2025 so far.

Hindustan Times wrote, “Final Destination: Bloodlines is not just a good film by franchise standards — it’s an entertaining, fast-paced, and gory ride that reminds audiences why the series became a cult phenomenon.”

With continued momentum and strong word-of-mouth, Final Destination: Bloodlines is expected to breach more box office milestones in the coming days.
