A resident of Bharatpur has filed a police complaint against the actors and six Hyundai officials, accusing them of fraud and promoting a defective vehicle. The legal action stems from an unresolved grievance regarding a Hyundai Alcazar SUV that developed technical issues.
August 27, 2025: Bollywood actors Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone have been charged with fraud in Bharatpur, Rajasthan, in connection with a Hyundai Alcazar SUV that is thought to have manufacturing problems. After a local court told the police to look into a complaint from a resident who said the brand and its famous ambassadors were lying to customers, the FIR was issued. It also names six high-ranking Hyundai employees.

Kirti Singh, a lawyer from Bharatpur, sued the company, stating he acquired the Hyundai Alcazar SUV for more than ₹23 lakh in 2022. He also adds that the car’s accelerator and engine management system started to have major issues that he believes placed his family’s safety at risk. Singh added that although he attempted numerous times to get Hyundai to rectify the faults, the company did not offer a solution or a refund.

Singh went to the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Court after the Mathura Gate police station rejected down his case. The cops were directed to write down the case on August 25. The FIR was filed under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the new Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). These statutes cover crimes like preparing a crime, violating trust, and fraud.
Anso Kim, the Managing Director of Hyundai Motor India, Tarun Garg, the Chief Operating Officer, and officials from the Malwa Auto Sales organization were all part of Singh’s plea. He also said that Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone were to blame for being brand advocates. since their endorsements made the products seem better than they really were.
So yet, neither Shah Rukh Khan nor Deepika Padukone’s agents have stated anything in public regarding the legal case.
