August 27, 2025: We have news for witches and wizards! This is the first look at the new Weasley family for the upcoming HBO Harry Potter show. The ensemble was seen filming at London’s famous King’s Cross Station, bringing to life one of the most popular moments from the books. This is the formal start of filming for the much awaited play.
Fans received their first look at the Weasley siblings in an image that was posted on social media. Alastair Stout, who is 11 years old, played Ron Weasley. Stout was wearing clothes from the 1990s, which confirms that the new series will take place in the decade when the books were first published. Tristan and Gabriel Harland played the troublemaking Fred and George, and Gracie Cochrane played the youngest Weasley, Ginny. People have appreciated the images for their unique, real approach, which perfectly fits the family’s taste.
The event also gave us our first glance at Katherine Parkinson, who will play Molly Weasley, the mother of the family. Parkinson, who is wearing a classic suede jacket and her distinctive red hair, is the perfect person to play the loving yet no-nonsense persona that Julie Walters played in the movies. The new actors will join an already revealed group that includes Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter and Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger.
The show will start in 2027 and has already cast some big-name performers in important parts, like as John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape, and Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid. Fans are excited to see more behind-the-scenes footage from the set of this latest trip into the Wizarding World now that filming is in full gear.
