April 3, 2025: Prime Video has unveiled the first image from the highly anticipated Legally Blonde prequel series titled Elle, featuring Lexi Minetree in the iconic role of Elle Woods as a high school student.

In the first-look photo, Minetree is seen embodying the beloved character in her teenage years, wearing a pink hoodie and surrounded by pink bedding, while chatting on a landline phone—reminiscent of Elle’s bubbly and determined personality.

Reese Witherspoon, who portrayed the original Elle Woods in the 2001 film Legally Blonde, also shared the first look on her social media, expressing her excitement for the upcoming series. “Harvard was hard. High School was harder. Our new series, Elle, is now in production! Couldn’t be more excited to introduce you all to @leximinetree as Elle Woods,” she wrote.

The series delves into the high school years of Elle Woods and explores the formative experiences that helped shape her into the confident and ambitious woman audiences first fell in love with in the Legally Blonde franchise. Created by Laura Kittrell, Elle is executive produced by Kittrell, Caroline Dries, Reese Witherspoon, and Lauren Neustadter.

The cast includes June Diane Raphael as Elle’s mom, Eva; Tom Everett Scott as her dad, Wyatt; Gabrielle Policano as Liz, an anti-Elle Woods character; and Jacob Moskovitz as Miles, the star athlete at Elle’s high school. Chandler Kinney joins the cast as Kimberly, a sharp-tongued senior who clashes with Elle.

The first two episodes of Elle will be directed by Jason Moore, known for his work on Pitch Perfect, and the series is being produced by Hello Sunshine and Amazon MGM Studios. With production underway, fans can look forward to discovering the roots of the iconic character who ultimately heads to Harvard Law School in the original Legally Blonde films.
