A temporary restraining order has been filed by his wife, Catherine Blair Bowman, after she alleges a violent confrontation over his inappropriate texts with minors. The court documents detail physical assault and show messages from the former bassist apologizing for a “fake harmless fantasy”
August 1, 2025: Mickey Madden, who used to play bass for Maroon 5, is in issue with the law again because his wife, Catherine Blair Bowman, has asked for a temporary restraining order against him. People magazine got court papers that say the complaint says there was both physical aggression and inappropriate interaction with youngsters.
The judge has given the order, which will stay in force until a formal hearing on August 20. Their two Siberian huskies are also covered by the protective order.
Accusations of Assault and Bad Behavior
Bowman’s court papers describe an event that took place on July 21, after a young girl allegedly told her about inappropriate texting between her and Madden. Bowman says that when she confronted Madden at their house in Los Angeles, he refused to give her his phone and started deleting messages. The situation got worse when Bowman said that Madden hit her while she was trying to leave the house, holding her down and pushing her to the ground. She also talked about another episode of alleged assault that happened on May 14 and said that she is now “terrified” of him.
Screenshots of text exchanges used as proof show Madden calling the inappropriate texting a “private and fake harmless fantasy” and saying sorry for his “unacceptable” behavior. Bowman’s reply back showed how horrified she was. She said, “I don’t know the man who hires 18-year-old prostitutes to text them about wanting to be their stepdad and rape them while we’re on our honeymoon.”
Bowman also wants money and complete custody of their canines because he had control over their finances during their five-year marriage.
Madden, who quit Maroon 5 in 2020 after being accused of domestic violence, has not yet said anything publicly about these new claims. He was also caught with cocaine in 2016.
