Fox Renews ‘The Simpsons,’ ‘Family Guy,’ ‘Bob’s Burgers,’ and ‘American Dad!’ Through 2029
Washington [US], April 3:
Fox has locked in its top animated juggernauts through the rest of the decade. As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, the network has renewed The Simpsons, Family Guy, Bob’s Burgers, and American Dad! for four additional seasons each, keeping them on air until at least 2028-2029.
This move extends some of the most iconic animated series in television history:
Streaming performance reportedly played a major role in the renewals.
Family Guy, Bob’s Burgers, and American Dad! are consistent performers on Hulu, while The Simpsons remains a streaming powerhouse on Disney+.
Marci Proietto, head of 20th Television Animation, hailed the agreement as a major moment:
“This historic four-season order from our longtime partners at Fox is truly monumental for these iconic animated series.”
The renewed hits will join Krapopolis and the upcoming Universal Basic Guys in Fox’s 2025-26 primetime lineup, cementing the network’s reputation as the go-to destination for adult animated comedy.
American Dad! originally aired on Fox for nine seasons before shifting to TBS in 2014, where it thrived for another decade. Its return marks a full-circle moment for the fan-favorite series.
