‘Freakier Friday’ Trailer: Lindsay Lohan, Jamie Lee Curtis Reunite For The Ultimate Body-Swap Chaos

March 15, 2025: Disney has unveiled the highly anticipated trailer for Freakier Friday, the sequel to the 2003 classic Freaky Friday. The film brings back Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis for another round of body-swapping mayhem, this time with an exciting multigenerational twist.

Set to hit theaters on August 8, 2025, the sequel sees Anna (Lohan) and Tess (Curtis) waking up in each other’s bodies once again, but this time, things are even more complicated. Not only do mother and daughter swap identities, but Anna’s daughter (played by Julia Butters) and her soon-to-be stepdaughter (played by Sophia Hammons) also get caught up in the mix, leading to a chaotic four-way identity crisis.

The official logline for the movie reveals that years after Anna and Tess experienced their own body-swap, Anna now has a daughter and a soon-to-be stepdaughter. As they navigate the difficulties of blending two families, Tess and Anna soon discover that the identity crisis they once faced may strike again, this time affecting more people than before.

Adding to the nostalgia, the trailer features the return of Chad Michael Murray as Jake, making a dramatic entrance on his motorcycle. Other returning cast members include Mark Harmon, Christina Vidal Mitchell, Haley Hudson, Lucille Soong, Stephen Tobolowsky, and Rosalind Chao. They will be joined by new faces such as Manny Jacinto and Maitreyi Ramakrishnan.

Directed by Nisha Ganatra, Freakier Friday is a sequel fans have been eagerly waiting for since the success of the original. Filming wrapped up in August 2024, and in a fun surprise for fans, Lohan confirmed in November 2024 that her fictional band, Pink Slip, would return with new music for the film.

The original Freaky Friday was a remake of the 1976 classic starring Jodie Foster and Barbara Harris. The 2003 version became a major box office hit and continues to be a fan favorite, ensuring that Freakier Friday will no doubt be another nostalgic hit.
