Game Changer Day 11: Box Office Slumps as Ram Charan's Political Thriller Struggles to Maintain Momentum
January 20, 2025: The much-anticipated Telugu political action film, Game Changer, directed by Shankar and starring Ram Charan and Kiara Advani, premiered on January 10, 2025. Despite an impressive opening week, the movie’s box office performance has steadily declined, with Day 11 collections predicted at a mere ₹0.02 crore, as per early data from Sacnilk.

The film began its journey with a record-breaking ₹51 crore on its opening day, but subsequent days have seen a dramatic dip. Week 1 ended with a total of ₹117.65 crore. Weekend collections in Week 2 provided some relief but failed to sustain momentum:

As of Day 11 (2nd Monday), the total India net collection stands at ₹125.36 crore.
Game Changer has garnered significant revenue overseas, contributing ₹270.50 crore to its global total. Domestic gross collections have reached ₹1,461.15 crore, resulting in a worldwide tally of ₹1,731.15 crore. Despite this impressive figure, it still falls short of breaking Dangal‘s record as the highest-grossing Indian film of all time.
Produced by Dil Raju, Shirish, and Adityaram under the Sri Venkateswara Creations and Zee Studios banners, Game Changer features an ensemble cast including Anjali, S.J. Surya, and Samuthirakani. The film’s technical brilliance is evident with contributions from composer Thaman S, cinematographer S. Thirunavukkarasu, and action choreographers Anbariv.
The story, penned by Karthik Subbaraj with dialogues by Sai Madhav Burra, explores themes of political corruption and justice, brought to life by Shankar’s visionary direction.
Game Changer still has potential to regain its footing, with many pinning hopes on positive word-of-mouth and upcoming holidays. However, the steep decline in collections raises concerns about its ability to sustain long-term success at the box office.
