Game Of Thrones’ Hafthor “The Mountain” Bjornsson Shatters Deadlift World Record Again – Watch

The man known as “The Mountain” from Game of Thrones, Hafthor Bjornsson, has cemented his legacy by deadlifting a new world-record of 510kg and winning the entire strongman competition.

September 8, 2025: Hafthor Bjornsson, who plays “The Mountain” on Game of Thrones, set a new world record for the deadlift and won the overall strongman competition with an outstanding performance.

In Birmingham, at the 2025 Giants Live Strongman Open, Bjornsson achieved a new world record for the deadlift. He hoisted 510 kg (1,124 lb), which was 5 kg more than his best lift before. A lot of people wondered if he could have lifted more because it appeared so effortless.

The Plan for the Historic Lift

In a YouTube video, Bjornsson indicated that the lift was easy on purpose. He said he could have lifted more, but he chose 510 kg on purpose so he would have more energy for the other sports. He didn’t just want to break the record; he wanted to be the first person to lift more than 500 kg and win the whole strongman show.

This way works. Bjornsson won by a lot, beating Bryce Johnson by eight points. He was a champion because he used both his physical strength and his smart strategy to win. Giants Live has officially confirmed the new record and his total win.

Bjornsson’s most recent success adds to his already impressive record, which includes three wins at the Arnold Strongman Classic and the title of World’s Strongest Man in 2018. He is one of the strongest athletes ever because he can lift 510 kg from the ground.
