Jaime Lannister Traded His Sword for Idli-Vada!. Actor’s Low-Key Visit to Bengaluru’s Famous Eatery Goes Viral

July 27, 2025: Indian fans of “Game of Thrones” got a nice surprise last weekend when Hollywood actor Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who is famous around the world for his role as Jaime Lannister, showed up in Bengaluru and ate real South Indian food.

“Jaime Lannister Traded His Sword for Idli-Vada,” said Nikolaj Coster-Waldau. Seen at Bengaluru’s Rameshwaram Cafe, it becomes viral!
People saw the actor at Bengaluru’s famous The Rameshwaram Cafe, where he was eating a big South Indian lunch of idli, dosa, and vadas. Coster-Waldau wore jeans and a T-shirt, which made him blend in so well that many customers didn’t even know he was the “Kingslayer.”

But one sharp-eyed fan was able to get a video, which instantly went viral. In the video, Nikolaj is sitting at a table with a group of individuals and talking to them informally. Their plates are full of classic South Indian dishes. The fan was so happy that they wrote, “JAIME LANNISTER traded his sword for a plate of idli-vada.” I saw him at @therameshwaramcafe today and I’m NOT OKAY.

Later, the official Instagram account for The Rameshwaram Cafe confirmed the star’s presence by posting a picture of Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and his entourage inside the restaurant. The caption said, “A star-studded moment at The Rameshwaram Café, Rajajinagar!” We were very honored to host the very outstanding Nikolaj William Coster-Waldau and his team today. They went on to say, “Nikolaj’s visit was a very memorable highlight for us. He is known around the world for his great performances and charming demeanor. Thank you for choosing to try our real South Indian flavors. We are so happy to have shared this memorable day with you.

There has been no official statement yet on why Nikolaj Coster-Waldau is in India, whether it’s for work or fun. But his surprise visit has definitely made his Indian fans very happy.

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau has worked on a lot of other things than “Game of Thrones.” Some of these are the movies “Black Hawk Down,” “Headhunters,” “Mama,” and “The Last Thing He Told Me.” He will also play William the Conqueror in the upcoming BBC historical epic “King and Conqueror.”
