Several Bollywood stars, including Salman Khan, Sanjay Dutt, and Shilpa Shetty, visited Siddique’s family to offer their condolences. Siddique, a prominent politician and social figure, had deep ties with the Bollywood community, particularly with Salman Khan, who regularly attended Siddique’s famous Iftar parties during Eid celebrations.

On Sunday, 13th October, a screenshot of a Facebook post went viral on social media, in which a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi Gang appeared to have claimed responsibility for the murder of senior NCP leader and former Maharashtra minister, Baba Siddique.

In a chilling statement following the assassination, Lawrence Bishnoi claimed that Siddique’s death was a direct consequence of Salman Khan’s actions, referring to the actor’s infamous 1998 killing of the Chinkara deer in Jodhpur—a sensitive issue for the Bishnoi community. Bishnoi said, “Salman Khan, we did not want this war, but you made our brother lose his life.” The statement implied that Siddique’s assassination was a part of an ongoing vendetta linked to the Bishnoi community’s grievances against Khan.

Bishnoi further warned that anyone associated with Salman Khan or aligned with the Dawood Ibrahim gang should prepare for consequences. “We have no personal enmity with anyone, but if someone gets our brothers killed, we will respond. We never strike first. Jai Shri Ram, Jai Bharat, salute to the martyrs,” Bishnoi stated.

Salman Khan, known to be close friends with Siddique, paid tribute to the late NCP leader at his residence on Sunday. The actor, accompanied by his longtime bodyguard Shera, was seen leaving Siddique’s home in Bandra after offering his respects. Siddique, 66, was shot just outside the office of his MLA son, Zeeshan Siddique, and was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

Baba Siddique, a former Congress leader, had recently switched allegiance to the NCP, and his political connections made his death all the more shocking. His close bond with Khan dates back years, and he was even credited with mending the strained relationship between Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan in the past.
