“Gazing With Goats”, Says Vijay Varma After Sharing Pictures With Co-Stars

Vijay Varma, currently enjoying the success of IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack, recently shared photos on Instagram with his co-stars Manoj Pahwa, Pankaj Kapur, and Naseeruddin Shah.

He humorously captioned the post, “Grazing with GOATS Thespian Gangstas,” a nod to the acting legends in the series. The post drew admiration from fans and fellow actors, with Sunny Hinduja commenting, “Maaaaiiiiiiiiiii bhi milna chahta hoon [I also want to meet].”

At a press meet, Varma opened up about portraying Captain Devi Sharan, the pilot of the hijacked IC 814 flight. He revealed that the best compliment came from Captain Sharan himself, who praised Varma’s portrayal, as did Mrs. Sharan, who remarked, “I know this man more than he knows himself, and you’ve come very close to him.” Varma emphasized that his approach was not to imitate the real-life figure but to embody the spirit of the character. Director Anubhav Sinha also attended the event alongside co-stars Naseeruddin Shah, Pankaj Kapur, and others.

The six-episode Netflix series, created by Sinha and Trishant Shrivastava, recounts the 1999 hijacking of Indian Airlines Flight IC 814 and the subsequent ordeal.
