Glenn Close Calls ‘Knives Out 3’ One of the Best Experiences of Her Life

Acclaimed actor Glenn Close recently shared her excitement and positive experience working on the much-anticipated Knives Out 3, titled Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery. In an interview with People, Close expressed that her time on the set has been “truly one of the best experiences of my life.”

The third installment of the Knives Out franchise, which follows the success of Glass Onion in 2022, sees Close joining an all-star cast under the direction of Rian Johnson. The mystery-thriller series, led by Daniel Craig as the sharp-witted investigator Benoit Blanc, has become a global phenomenon. Close shared that she’s been filming in London, and working with Johnson has been nothing short of extraordinary. “He’s such a fine human being. He’s kind, he’s brilliant. He has a great laugh!” she gushed.

Johnson, who has become synonymous with the Knives Out franchise, has been teasing the upcoming movie. In a social media post from June 10, the filmmaker offered the first glimpse of Daniel Craig reprising his role as Blanc, dressed in a three-piece suit and sporting longer hair. “See you on the other side,” Johnson captioned the black-and-white photo, leaving fans eager for more.

While the plot of Wake Up Dead Man remains shrouded in mystery, Johnson hinted in a teaser clip that Blanc will be tackling his “most dangerous case yet.” The film, much like its predecessors, boasts an impressive ensemble cast, including Close, Cailee Spaeny, Kerry Washington, Mila Kunis, Jeremy Renner, Josh O’Connor, and Andrew Scott.

Close couldn’t help but rave about the cast and crew assembled for the film. “Rian has put together this cast from heaven,” she remarked, adding that Daniel Craig continues to impress in his role as the lead detective. The eight-time Oscar nominee is particularly enthusiastic about an upcoming scene that brings the entire cast together. Although she couldn’t reveal specifics, she shared her anticipation: “This coming two weeks, we have scenes where all of us are in the same room, and I just can’t wait to see what he does and what she does. It’s so much fun.”

Despite the excitement of working on such a high-profile project, Close admitted that she often finds it hard to be away from home. Fortunately, her loyal dog, Pip—whom she affectionately calls “little Pippi”—has been a constant companion on set. “He helps ground me and take me out of myself and help me not to be quite so homesick,” Close said, adding that Pip has become a beloved presence among the crew.

In addition to Knives Out 3, Glenn Close has several other projects in the pipeline. She stars in The Deliverance, currently in theaters and streaming on Netflix starting August 30. She will also appear in Brothers, which hits theaters on October 10 and streams on Prime Video from October 17, as well as The Summer Book and Back in Action. Close’s busy schedule and continued passion for her work are a testament to her enduring presence in Hollywood.

With Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery poised to be another hit in the franchise, Glenn Close’s involvement only heightens the anticipation for what promises to be a thrilling and unforgettable film.
