Govinda has issued a heartfelt public apology after Sunita Ahuja made controversial comments about Pandit Mukesh Shukla during a recent podcast appearance.

Sunita Ahuja’s remarks were made during a podcast with Bigg Boss 13 contestant Paras Chhabra. When Chhabra mentioned that some spiritual advisors do not always have the best intentions, Sunita quickly agreed, referencing their own astrologer.

Sunita Ahuja: “We also have one in our house, Govinda’s pandit. He is also like this only, gets pujas done, charges Rs. 2 lakhs. I tell him that you should pray on your own, unka karaaya hua puja paath kuch kaam nahi aane wala hai (his religious ceremonies will not work).”

She further expressed her personal disbelief in such rituals, adding, “God will accept the prayers that you do on your own. I don’t believe in all this. Even if I donate or do any good deed, I do it with my own hands for my karma.”

Govinda’s Public Condemnation and Apology

The Partner actor responded swiftly to his wife’s comments, releasing a video statement where he publicly condemned her words and offered a “deepest apology” to Pandit Mukesh Shukla.

Govinda: “My wife made disparaging remarks against Pandit Mukesh Shukla on the podcast, and I condemn them. My deepest apologies. Pandit Mukesh Ji and his family have been with me in tough times, and I respect him a lot.”

Govinda’s statement makes it clear that he maintains a high regard for Pandit Mukesh Shukla, emphasizing the Pandit’s long-standing support and loyalty to the family.

The incident comes amidst a year where the couple has frequently been in the headlines. Earlier in 2025, reports of a potential divorce surfaced, which were later denied by Govinda’s manager, who confirmed the couple had settled their issues and were still together, despite Sunita having initially filed for divorce.

During the same podcast, Sunita also addressed long-standing rumors about Govinda having an affair with a “Marathi actress,” stating that while she had heard the rumors, she would not declare anything unless she saw him with her “own eyes or catch him red-handed.”
