Mumbai: In a bizarre mix-up, Govinda’s current secretary, Shashi Sinha, was forced to clarify that he is alive and well after false news of his death spread widely.

The confusion arose following the death of Govinda’s former secretary, Shashi Prabhu, on March 6 in Mumbai. The veteran Bollywood personality had been battling heart issues and had recently undergone bypass surgery.

Govinda Mourns Shashi Prabhu’s Passing

Govinda, who shared a close bond with Shashi Prabhu, arrived at his home to offer condolences to the family. Videos and pictures of the actor, visibly emotional and wiping tears, went viral on social media.

As news of Shashi Prabhu’s death circulated, confusion over their similar names led to false reports of Shashi Sinha’s demise.

Clearing the air, Shashi Sinha spoke to IANS, stating:

“I have been receiving numerous condolence messages and calls since the false news of my death circulated. Since I share the same name as Govinda’s old friend and former secretary Shashi Prabhu, the confusion led to this misinformation.”

Sinha further explained that while Shashi Prabhu was Govinda’s secretary during the early years of his career, he took over the role after the 1986 film Ilzaam.

Shashi Prabhu’s Influence on Govinda’s Career

Shashi Sinha also highlighted the deep bond between Govinda and his late friend, stating:

“He was Govinda’s childhood friend. During Govinda’s early struggles, Shashi Prabhu stood by him like a brother. Their relationship remained strong over the years.”

Many believe that Shashi Prabhu played a key role in introducing Govinda to politics, guiding him during his brief political career.

Shashi Sinha’s Bollywood Connections

Shashi Sinha, who has managed Govinda for years, also handles other top Bollywood celebrities, including Aamir Khan, Ayesha Jhulka, and Sangeeta Bijlani.

Despite the confusion, Sinha reassured fans that he is healthy and continuing his work in the industry.
