The video, which was shared earlier this week by an Instagram page called Gen Z Pulse, shows a group of young girls being interviewed on the streets. When asked to name the President of India, their responses ranged from confusion to outright wrong answers.
One participant is heard saying, “I forgot his name,” implying she thought the current President was male. Another girl mentions “Murunali” or “Murunu,” while a third names the previous President Ram Nath Kovind, and a fourth even jokingly says Jawahar Lal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India, despite Nehru never holding the office of President.
The video, meant to highlight the lack of awareness about basic general knowledge among some young Indians, quickly went viral. The clip drew strong reactions from viewers, with many criticizing the youngsters for their ignorance.
Kangana Ranaut took to Instagram Stories to share her thoughts on the video. Alongside a screengrab from the viral clip, she wrote, “War won’t kill us but grasshopper brain cell generation surely will.” The actress’s remark seems to refer to the recent tensions between India and Pakistan, alluding to the idea that a lack of awareness could be more harmful than external conflicts.
