Ground Zero Box Office Day 1: Emraan Hashmi’s Patriotic Thriller Opens to Lukewarm Response

Despite favorable reviews and a compelling storyline, the Emraan Hashmi-led action drama struggles to draw crowds on opening day, collecting just ₹1 crore.

Emraan Hashmi’s much-anticipated historical action drama Ground Zero, which released in theatres on April 25, 2025, opened to mixed commercial results, despite receiving positive reviews from critics and early audiences.

The film, co-starring Sai Tamhankar, focuses on the aftermath of the 2001 Indian Parliament attack and follows a high-stakes mission led by BSF officer Narendra Nath Dhar Dubey, tasked with neutralizing the elusive terrorist Ghazi Baba after a two-year-long covert operation.

Box Office Collection – Day 1

According to early estimates from Sacnilk, Ground Zero earned ₹1.00 crore on its opening day. The overall Hindi occupancy on Friday stood at 8.63%, with the following show-wise breakdown:

About the Film

Directed by Tejas Prabha Vijay Deoskar and produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar, Ground Zero stars an ensemble cast including Zoya Hussain, Aeklavya Tomer, Lalit Prabhakar, and Mukesh Tiwari.

Taking to Instagram, Emraan Hashmi shared a glimpse of the film, captioning:
“A hunt led by a brave BSF officer for an enemy no one had seen. Watch Ground Zero at cinemas near you from 25th April.”

While the film’s patriotic theme and gripping narrative have resonated with some viewers, it remains to be seen whether Ground Zero can convert critical praise into commercial success.
