Ground Zero Box Office Performance Has Been Less Than Ordinary
April 30, 2025: Despite garnering praise for its gripping storyline and Emraan Hashmi’s intense performance, Ground Zero continues to underperform at the box office. The war drama, which chronicles a true story from the Kashmir valley, earned only ₹0.63 crore on its fifth day — matching Monday’s earnings and taking its total domestic collection to ₹6.46 crore.
According to trade tracker Sacnilk, the film’s box office trajectory has remained flat since day 4, struggling to pull in larger crowds despite its emotionally-charged plot and positive word-of-mouth.

About the Film:
Ground Zero is based on the real-life story of BSF Commandant Narendra Nath Dhar Dubey, who played a key role in a covert operation following the 2001 Indian Parliament attack. At the trailer launch, Emraan Hashmi highlighted the operation’s significance, stating that it dismantled Jaish-e-Mohammed’s infrastructure and prevented further attacks on Indian soil for over a decade.
“This operation’s success meant 13 years without another major terror strike by Jaish in India,” said Hashmi. “That story needed to be told.”
The film also features Sai Tamhankar, Zoya Hussain, Mukesh Tiwari, Deepak Parmesh, Lalit Prabhakar, Rockey Raina, and Rahul Vohra in pivotal roles.
Historic Premiere:
Ground Zero created history by becoming the first Indian film in 38 years to host its red carpet premiere in Srinagar, Kashmir — a symbolic and emotional choice given the film’s subject matter.
Despite these milestones and Hashmi’s powerful portrayal, the film continues to face tough competition at the box office. With growing pressure to deliver results, the coming weekend could be crucial to its theatrical fate.
