Guru Randhawa ‘Azul’ Music Video Sparks Outrage for ‘Sexualizing Schoolgirls’

Guru Randhawa is facing severe backlash for his latest music video, “Azul,” which critics have slammed for sexualizing schoolgirls. The controversy has been amplified by actress Sonam Kapoor, who publicly backed the criticism.

August 29, 2025: People don’t like Guru Randhawa’s new song “Azul.” Many people have said that the music video is “problematic” and “disturbing.” People are angry with the artist for making it appear appropriate to act like a predator and sexualize girls at school. The singer hasn’t spoken anything about the awful things people have said about her yet.

“Azul,” which came out on August 6, contains a music video in which Guru Randhawa plays a photographer at a girls’ school. Some people think this notion is bad and will hurt other people. Some critics think that the music video, which shows adult actors playing teenage girls in school, promotes a “sexualized, pornographic, and disturbing fantasy.”

A popular Instagram post also suggested that the movie connected young ladies to different kinds of alcohol, which made a lot of people extra angrier.

A lot of people wanted to go to the event since actress Sonam Kapoor spoke out in favor of the critics. The actress liked the Instagram post that went viral, which made it seem like she agreed with what people were saying. Varun Dhawan and Mrunal Thakur, two other Bollywood celebs who liked Guru Randhawa’s posts about how good the song is performing, had completely different reactions than Sonam. Some people suspect that these stars may have liked the posts without really watching the video that got them in trouble.

People are utilizing social media to let off steam. Someone on Instagram remarked, “The song video made me sick.” How can something so bad become the norm? Someone else said, “People don’t know how much movies and music can change people, especially in India.” These artists don’t care about how their work affects other people. They simply care about how much money their tunes can make them.

Even if the comments are becoming harsher, Guru Randhawa hasn’t said anything. The singer always talks about how good the song is performing in India, yet he won’t let anyone comment on his Instagram pictures. Some people think that this is a strategy to keep people from speaking out against it. Because of this, people have been wondering about what artists should accomplish and how their work affects the world.
