The ‘Iron Man’ star teases MCU return, praises Robert Downey Jr., and denies any rivalry with Meghan Markle during candid Instagram Q&A
Washington DC, March 26:
Gwyneth Paltrow, widely loved for her role as Pepper Potts in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has sparked excitement among fans by hinting at a potential return to the franchise. While responding to questions during an Instagram Stories Q&A, the actress said she’s open to rejoining the MCU—though nothing is officially confirmed yet.
“The truth is, I don’t totally know. I think I might, but I’m not sure. Nothing is confirmed. That is the truth. That’s the inside scoop,” Paltrow shared when asked if she was returning to the superhero universe, according to Variety.
Paltrow played a pivotal role in the Marvel saga, appearing in major blockbusters like Iron Man, The Avengers, Spider-Man: Homecoming, and Avengers: Endgame. Her character evolved from Tony Stark’s trusted assistant and love interest into a full-fledged superhero in her own right, helping to battle Thanos in the MCU’s climactic finale.
During the same Instagram session, Paltrow was asked—this time in Spanish—if she still spoke regularly with co-star Robert Downey Jr., who is rumored to return to the MCU in 2026 as Doctor Doom. She warmly responded that they speak often and that she plans to call him on his 60th birthday, April 4.
Paltrow also used the opportunity to shut down recent speculation about a supposed feud with Meghan Markle. Responding to a fan’s question about online rumors of tension between her and the Duchess of Sussex over lifestyle brands, Paltrow laughed it off.
“I genuinely do not understand this at all whatsoever. Do you understand this?” she asked while turning the camera toward Markle, who responded playfully by shrugging and eating a piece of pie—putting an end to the speculation.
With Marvel fans hoping for Pepper Potts’ return and Paltrow addressing the rumors head-on, it seems the Oscar-winning actress remains as candid and charismatic as ever—both on screen and off.
