Gym vs. Ozempic? Gautami Kapoor Fires Back at Ekta Kapoor’s Weight Loss Dig with Sassy Rebuttal

Actor Gautami Kapoor claps back at Ekta Kapoor’s veiled comment on husband Ram Kapoor’s transformation, mocks the producer’s remarks in a cheeky Instagram video.

Mumbai, April 1: The fitness vs pharma debate took a spicy turn in Bollywood as actor Gautami Kapoor took a sharp and humorous jab at television czarina Ekta Kapoor after the latter appeared to mock Ram Kapoor’s dramatic weight loss.

Gautami, who is married to actor Ram Kapoor, shared a tongue-in-cheek Instagram video where she not only addressed Ekta’s earlier comment but also mimicked her gestures and dialogue in full flair. The video seems to be a direct response to Ekta’s now-viral post hinting at weight loss trends and her popular show “Bade Acche Lagte Hain,” which originally starred Ram Kapoor.

In her playful video, Gautami is seen weighing her options dramatically:
“Should I do an anti-inflammatory diet, should I do Mounjaro, should I do Ozempic, or all of the above? Or should I just zip my mouth?”
She ends the clip with a pointed quip:
“But mere liye gym hi kaafi hai. Kyunki humein bade nahi, chhote hi ache lagte hain.”
— an ironic twist on the iconic title of Ekta’s hit show.

The response comes after Ekta Kapoor posted her own video on March 11, joking about her weight gain and listing pharmaceutical solutions like Ozempic and Mounjaro. She concluded with the line:
“Hum bade hi acche lagte hain,” hinting at self-acceptance — but also triggering speculation that it was a dig at Ram Kapoor’s physical transformation.

Not the First Controversy

Ekta Kapoor has often found herself in the headlines — not just for her shows, but also for legal troubles. In 2023, a case was filed against her, her mother Shobha Kapoor, and ALT Balaji under the POCSO Act, citing explicit content involving minors in season 6 of their web series ‘Gandii Baat.’ Although the controversial episode has since been removed from the platform, the matter still lingers.

With this latest round of banter, it seems the Kapoor drama — on-screen and off — is far from over.
