Hailee Steinfeld Confirms Work on ‘Spider-Verse’ Sequel, Teases Marvel Future
Washington [US], April 18 – Actress and singer Hailee Steinfeld is officially back in action as Gwen Stacy, voicing the beloved character in the upcoming animated feature Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, slated for release on June 4, 2027.
In a recent chat with Josh Horowitz, Steinfeld revealed she’s already been in the recording booth for the much-anticipated sequel. “We’re well into that thing,” she shared, adding with a laugh, “You’ve gotta trust the process.”
The Oscar-nominated star, who voiced Gwen Stacy in Into the Spider-Verse (2018) and Across the Spider-Verse (2023), remained tight-lipped about plot specifics but praised the creators behind the franchise: “If there’s one thing I’ve learned with that — it’s that. You put it in their hands and you’re gonna end up with something masterful.”
When asked about her potential return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) in live-action form, Steinfeld was hopeful but evasive: “I sure hope not [long],” she said when questioned about a delay. Her name was notably missing from the initial Avengers: Doomsday cast announcement, sparking speculation.
Though Steinfeld dodged spoilers, she did not deny the possibility of a future appearance. Marvel, meanwhile, confirmed that more cast names would be announced soon.
Avengers: Doomsday, part of Marvel’s expanding slate, already boasts a star-studded lineup including Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Anthony Mackie (Captain America), Vanessa Kirby (Susan Storm), Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), and Florence Pugh (Yelena).
While fans wait for more casting news, Steinfeld’s continued presence in the Spider-Verse universe promises more web-slinging excitement ahead.
