May 21, 2025 : Model and entrepreneur Hailey Bieber has candidly shared the challenges and emotional journey she faced during and after the birth of her first child, Jack Blues Bieber, with husband and pop star Justin Bieber.

In an intimate interview with E! News, Hailey reflected on the intense and life-altering experience of welcoming her son in August 2024. She described the 18-hour labor as “the hardest thing” she’s ever done, marked by medical induction and no pain relief.

“Giving birth was the hardest thing I’ve ever done,” said the 28-year-old, explaining how she had prepared physically through workouts and pelvic-floor therapy. However, labor was medically induced using a Foley balloon catheter — a procedure she found extremely uncomfortable.

“They broke my water. I went into labour and I laboured for a few hours. No epidural, nothing,” Hailey recalled. But it was after her son’s birth that things took a dangerous turn.

She experienced a severe postpartum hemorrhage — heavy bleeding that, as she put it, was “a little bit scary.”
“I trust my doctor with my life,” Hailey said. “But I was bleeding really badly, and people die, and the thought crosses your mind.”

While doctors worked to control the bleeding with medication, Hailey had to be separated from her newborn son — a moment she described as distressing.
“You start to get a little freaked out. I wanted to hold my baby. I wanted to be with him.”

Fortunately, the medical team stabilized her using a Jada device, a vacuum-assisted tool designed to manage postpartum hemorrhaging. Despite the ordeal, Hailey expressed deep gratitude for her healthcare providers and shared that she would “do it all again,” though she intends to expand her family “one kid at a time.”

She also spoke about Justin Bieber’s unwavering support during labor. “My woman is a god. A superhero. I could never,” she recalled him saying — a sentiment that deeply moved her.

However, the transition into motherhood hasn’t been without emotional challenges. Hailey opened up about the toll of public scrutiny and online rumors during her postpartum recovery.

“Being postpartum is the most sensitive time I’ve ever gone through in my life,” she said. “Learning a new version of myself is very difficult. To be doing that all the while going on the internet every day, and people being like, ‘They’re getting divorced,’ ‘They’re this,’ ‘They’re not happy’… it’s such a mindf–k.”

Despite everything, Hailey expressed fulfillment in this new chapter of her life. “I’m walking in the days I always dreamed of,” she said, embracing motherhood beside her husband.
